FENNIE + MEHL designs the adjustable table

Peggi

FENNIE+MEHL loves when philanthropy and design mesh. It’s why the firm supports San Francisco’s Chairity event. Every year since 2017, creative volunteers give new life and purpose to old chairs that are then auctioned to raise funds for Bay Area community initiatives dedicated to change. Judges honor truly transformed pieces, with points given for unique design that pushes the envelope yet still remains useful.

In the midst of the keep-your-distance mantra of the global pandemic of 2020, F+M partnered with Corral, a furniture design studio and manufacturer in Oakland, to create a way to safely bring people together.

Meet Peggi, a compact and portable solid oak table with leather and brass fittings that allows friends to safely come together to gather on a stoop or in a favorite public space or park. With San Francisco’s hilly hometown topography in mind, Peggi adjusts to a variety of stair heights or sloped ground simply by changing the pegs or swapping out the rear supports for full-height legs to keep drinks at a comfortable sharing height. Included cushions pad any perch to encourage folks to sit and stay a while. Peggi is the perfect partner for a happy hour or soaking up some sunshine on a grassy hillside.
