Highly Principled New Principal

Jenna Ruth is at the ready to help steer F+M into its third decade as its newest principal.  Her promotion was recently chronicled in The Registry.

SAN FRANCISCO (June 6, 2017) – FENNIE+MEHL, the architecture and interior design firm, has promoted Jenna Ruth to be the firm’s first principal outside the founding partners, Ned Fennie and Doug Mehl. Ruth is a strategic businesswoman and imaginative designer whose collaborative instincts have given her an agility to work across industries.

Since joining FENNIE+MEHL in 2012, Ruth has led business development efforts and taken on strategic planning and visioning for the firm, while also being one of the creative directors. Before coming to F+M, she focused on interior work in the San Francisco and Los Angeles offices of an international architecture firm, and spent time at a variety of interior and architecture firms around the Bay Area, including a stint as a Revit 3D modeling specialist at a sustainable engineering firm.

“Jenna has an exquisite ability to extract, understand and then translate through design what people within a company need to flourish within their workplace,” said Ned Fennie, the co-founder of the firm. “We know that nailing a firm’s culture affects recruitment and retention, and Jenna’s ability to translate culture and brand into the design allows our clients to achieve their business goals.”

“We’re entering into our third decade of designing and building wonderful spaces, and Jenna has proven to be the kind of design leader who creates award-winning designs,” explained co-founder Doug Mehl. “She is motivated to constantly raise the bar to deliver the kind of unexpected and powerful spaces that exceed our client’s expectations every time. Her ability to work with C-suite executives and understand what they need convinced me she will wisely help steer F+M into the future.”
