Github on Custom Spaces
Walking into the offices of Github is like stepping into an alternate reality; one where work closely resembles play and creativity is valued as highly as productivity. You are greeted on arrival by the “Octo-cat” a mascot that takes shape around you in the form of statuettes, T-shirts and even the emblem on the rug in the “Oval Office” replica where the office manager is seated.
Untraditional is an understatement when it comes to the use of space, with an indoor picnic area complete with lights strung from the rafters, a “Speakeasy” bar concealed behind a wood paneled wall, an unapologetically glam ladies lounge of Wearstler proportions and rows of “caves” where workers can tune out their surroundings in order to focus on the project at hand.
