Position Overview – Senior Interior Designer:

The Senior Designer is a generalist role, and the candidate is expected to possess the leadership abilities to deal with all aspects of Interior Architectural design, project and client management and related issues. The position is responsible for handling a wide variety of project types and complex professional design activities including: spatial planning and design, finishes, FF&E, lighting, code requirements, project delivery, business development and firm operation, etc.

The ideal candidate will be organized, creative, and pragmatic with a strong foundation in design concepts and principles, practices and construction. Strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal and problem solving skills are critical abilities required for the position.

The Senior Designer will communicate and collaborate closely with senior management and firm leadership, clients, staff, consultants, vendors and contractors. The position is a solid platform for personal career growth and leads directly to leadership roles to support the firm’s overall success and growth.

Other aspects of the role include:

  • Agility in producing conceptual and fully executed designs
  • Ability to deftly handle multiple clients and projects simultaneously
  • Contribute to developing firm book of business and be an integral member of firm BD activities
  • Lead and manage clients, project teams, vendors and consultants to produce successful design outcomes
  • Direct aesthetic and functional aspects of projects to team members and stakeholders
  • Well versed in design functional/aesthetic resources, market trends, and training of staff
  • Highly proficient modelling/drawing skills in Revit, CAD, Adobe PS, Illustrator, Indesign, MS Office tools, and Deltek Ajera accounting
  • Assist project managers and principals in developing contracts and achieving financial success on projects
