Our growing firm is seeking an agile, authentic and collaborative architect to join our team as a Senior Project Architect. Our studio is located in the SOMA area of San Francisco. Position Overview

We are searching for a Senior Project Architect with a focus on the technical nature of the work and has a strong understanding of interior design. Proven experience in project and team management is required. The successful candidate will have experience in understanding complex materials and detailing contract documentation and would develop strong liaisons with the General Contracting community to evolve and tailor project delivery methods. They will be facile with Revit and AutoCAD software and show strengths in developing and training junior staff. In addition to the proven technical experience, we are looking for a candidate who has leadership acumen and is eager for opportunities to build on that further in their career. Opportunities for this role include ownership for delivering key company performance metrics. Our studio celebrates an entrepreneurial spirit so the expectation is that this person will also be engaged in continuous process improvement for the studio. Participation and leadership in potential client interviews and business development efforts are a key aspect of this position. Opportunities for leading the studio’s project delivery, technology, and drawing detail efforts are currently available and encouraged.

Other Job Duties Include:

  • Ability to prioritize, manage and work on multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Coordination with clients, vendors, contractors on interior furnishings, fabrics, lighting, carpet, art, accessories, etc.
  • Utilization of Revit for elevation and plan drawings, 3-dimensional drawings, furniture layouts, custom furniture, carpet, rugs, and lighting design intent drawings.
  • Develop strong visual presentation materials, in both physical material boards and computer-based renderings
  • Knowledge of current trends in lighting, finishes, materials, furniture, textiles, and fashion.

Candidates with great communication skills and a broad experience base are highly desired. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 12 years of corporate office design experience, be trustworthy, highly motivated, have a strong design flair and an interest in being involved in all areas of an architectural practice.

Professional Experience:

  • Licensed architect with at least 12 years’ experience
  • Have nascent business development skills and connections in the SF Bay Area
  • Be adept at juggling client consultation as well as drawing and designing projects
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and MS Office
  • Experience in contributing to design concept development

Project Management Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads internal and external project teams for architectural and interior design solutions
  • Manages consultant coordination

Marketing Responsibilities

  • Participate in new project interviews and other business development activities
  • Prepares service authorizations, add services, consultant agreements, transmittals, etc.
  • Assist with special projects/assignments on an as needed basis
