Preferred Experience Level:

Junior Architectural Designer, 3-5 years minimum work experience
Intermediate Architect, 5-7 years minimum professional work experience
Senior Architect, 7-10 years minimum professional work experience

Preferred Educational Level:

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited five-year college (B-Arch) or university with major coursework in architectural design

Professional License/Registration:

CA Architectural License or equivalent Intermediate and Senior Candidates

Position Overview – Architect:

The architect is a generalist role, and the candidate is expected to possess the abilities to deal with aspects of architectural design, and assist senior leaders in production, project and client management, and related issues. The position is responsible for handling a wide variety of project types and complex professional design activities including: spatial planning and design, materials, detailing, structural and MEP systems, code requirements. The role includes contributing to project delivery and supporting business development activities and firm operations.

The Architect will communicate and collaborate closely with senior management and firm leadership, clients, staff, consultants, vendors and contractors. The position is a solid platform for personal career growth, leads directly to advancement to senior levels, and supports firm’s overall success and growth. 

The ideal candidate will be organized, creative, and pragmatic with a strong foundation in design concepts and principles, practices and construction. Strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal and problem solving skills are critical abilities required for the position.

Other Aspects of the Role Include:

  • Contribute to producing conceptual and fully executed designs
  • Ability to work with multiple clients and on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Collaborate within project teams, with vendors, and consultants to produce successful design outcomes
  • Support and contribute to the aesthetic, functional, and production aspects of projects
  • Assist senior leaders in curating design functional/aesthetic resources
  • Proficient in modeling/drawing skills in Revit, CAD, Adobe PS, Illustrator, Indesign, and MS Office tools
  • Ability to create construction documents independently Intermediate and Senior Candidates
  • Participate and support firm BD activities Intermediate and Senior Candidates
